Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kidooki mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Kidooki ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use the Service. Kidooki is designed for parents and guardians to create personalized bedtime stories for their children. Children should only access the Service under parental supervision.

2. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address or through Apple or Google sign-in. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date

You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. The Service

Kidooki provides:

  • Personalized AI-generated bedtime stories based on child profiles you create
  • AI-generated illustrations for each story
  • AI-generated audio narration
  • A personal story library to save and revisit stories
  • Daily push notifications when new stories are available

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice when possible.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Kidooki offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat.

  • Billing. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) at the rate displayed at the time of purchase.
  • Free trials. If offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
  • Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds. Refund policies are governed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store terms. We do not directly process payments or issue refunds.

5. AI-Generated Content

All stories, illustrations, and audio narration are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for quality and appropriateness:

  • AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, inconsistencies, or unexpected output
  • All content passes through our moderation system to filter inappropriate material
  • We do not guarantee that every piece of content will perfectly match your expectations
  • If you encounter inappropriate content, please report it immediately through our support page

6. Content Ownership and License

Your Content

You retain ownership of the information you provide (child profiles, preferences). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use this information solely to generate personalized stories.

Generated Content

Stories, illustrations, and audio created by the Service are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may:

  • Read, view, and listen to stories within the app
  • Share stories privately within your household

You may not:

  • Redistribute, publish, or sell generated content commercially
  • Use generated content to train other AI models
  • Claim generated content as entirely your own original work for commercial purposes

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to manipulate child profiles to generate inappropriate or harmful content
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or promotional offers
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Content Safety

We are committed to providing safe, age-appropriate content. Our content moderation system reviews all AI-generated output before it reaches your child. We prohibit content that is:

  • Violent, frightening, or disturbing
  • Sexually suggestive or explicit
  • Discriminatory or hateful
  • Promoting dangerous behavior

If content slips through our moderation, please report it via our support page and we will address it promptly.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • AI-generated content will always be accurate, appropriate, or meet your specific expectations
  • The Service will be compatible with all devices or operating systems

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kidooki shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kidooki, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the app settings or by contacting our support team. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
